Morocco Expeditions

Are you looking for a mountain biking holiday tied in with a massive ratio of world class, mind blowing singletrack and an unforgettable adventure?

If so, this is the holiday for you!

Why Morocco?

Until very recently Morocco, and more specifically, the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, was isolated from the rest of the world. The French entered Morocco in the 1920's but it took them a further 21 years before they managed to pacify the three main feuding Berber Warrior chiefs. The development of Morocco since 1933 hasn't been fast (although it is changing) and the way of life is still very harsh. The people in the remote villages are still very poor and traveling by donkey is the main form of transport. This means that there is thousands of km's of un ridden, unexplored singletrack linking village to village and high pass to high pass which has not been spoiled by the influx of modernisation or tourist exploitation. These trails make for some of the best mountain biking in the world, it really is singletrack heaven with a big mix of adventure thrown in for good measure!

What's the singletrack like?

The singletrack is fast and flowing with a descending gradient. There is also the occasional technical section to keep you on your toes but sustained rocky sections are rare and the grip is usually very good. There will be some singletrack climbing into remote villages and a few of the days will have optional (but recommended) climbs on dirt track to get to the higher passes. Over 70% of your ride time will be on singletrack!

This Moroccan package is for the capable mountain biker. Without exception! If you can ride the singletrack on black routes at most of the UK trail centres you will be ok. However, if you find these are out of your league, we recommend you visit Freeridespains XC/All Mountain holiday packages. These are still great fun and will help you develop the skills required - not only for the UK trail centres, but also the Moroccan Expeditions.
