Food, traditional Berber food in the mountains!

  • Breakfast: Moroccan bread with a selection of spreads, cheese, mint tea, juice and coffee.
  • Lunch: A fantastic picnic spread of pasta, mixed salad, omlete with spices and peppers, tinned fish, bread and of course mint tea!
  • Dinner: Soup starter with a tureen of chicken and vegetables or smiliar with lots of bread to soak up the fantastic flavours in the gravies.

We're very sorry but it is not possible to cater for vegetarians or other kinds of eating preferences. All the food is prepared by Mohammed, our Berber chef!

Is the riding supported?

  • Yes, we have 4x4 support at all times. If at any point you wish to bail out you are more than welcome to (providing it is quicker to get to the road!) If you decide to miss a days riding you can get a lift to the next RV point or spend the day trailing the ride.

First aid and insurance.

First Aid

  • Each rider MUST have their own basic first aid kit. This should have items like: plasters, wipes, bandages, iodine and tape. These can be bought from Boots for around £10
  • We carry a complete first aid kit which contains items from syringes to sutra kits. our kits do not contain any drugs or creams (pain killers, asprin, antiseptic cream etc.') so we recommend you bring your own if you use them

Inoculations

  • Please make sure that your polio and tetanus are up to date. It can also be worthwhile having your hepatitis A and typhoid jabs just in case.

Insurance

  • Insurance is essential. Please make sure that it will cover things like helicopter rescue, extreme sports and repatriation. Proof of insurance is required and contact/emergency telephone numbers should be given to either the driver or Simon before departing on any rides. You can purchase cover from Sports cover direct below:

Visas and Customs

Visas

  • If you hold a UK/European passport you must fill in a card/paper (which you will be given on the flight) with your passport number, name, address, destination in Morocco and other such details. Your passport is then stamped with an entry permit. You do not need to apply for a permit or visa before you travel.

Is the trip ok for women?

  • Absolutely! We have NEVER experienced any form of hostility towards any member of any group. When we ride in the high atlas mountains the locals are amazed to see mountain bikes, let alone pay any attention to the gender of the biker. Marrakech is also a very cosmopolitan city and you are not expected to dress or act any differently to how you would at home.
